Pulse 1 94?120. Systolic pressure 120 mm. Evening temperature 99'4? F. February 12th. No sleep. Incoherent talk. Tore his clothes, rolled about and attempted to bite attendants. Took Lemco, egg and coffee. Pulse 96?120, feeble. Urine contained albumen, no sugar. Bowels moved. Weakness increased. Respirations 24-28, fairly quiet. Evening temperature 99*8? F. Died at midnight. A complete autopsy was not permitted, but it was found possible to remove a small circlet of bone from the cranium with a trephine and extract some cortical matter. Microscopical examination showed the presence of Negri bodies and the degeneration of some of the nerve cells.
